Faced with increasing unpredictability, turbulent markets, low-cost competition and increasing customer demands, many firms are in the process of reconfiguring their supply chains, to reduce costs, improve quality, provide more customized product & service offerings, and faster response to customer needs. 

This 2-day interactive programme provides an up-to-date knowledge of best practices in supply chain management for formulating effective strategies to cope with increasing volatility, unpredictability and disruption risks in supply, demand and the external environment. The programme addresses issues pertaining to all major segments of supply chains as outlined below, providing current knowledge on digital supply chain technologies: business data analytics, big data management, blockchain & IoT technologies, harnessing social media channels, omnichannel retailing, etc. and how these technologies can be marshalled to optimize the supply chain.

The programme involves participative solving of case studies and problem situations. Participants will learn numerous management practices, and tools and techniques. The last session of the seminar focuses on career pathways in supply chain management, and how to obtain professional certifications of institutions such as APICS, ISM & CSCMP.

Programme leader

Nallan Suresh is University Distinguished Professor, Dept. of Operations Management & Strategy in The School of Management, State University of New York, Buffalo, NY, USA. He is also Associate Director of Stephen Still Institute for Sustainable Transportation & Logistics at that university.

Dr. Suresh is a leading researcher and educator in supply chain management, lean manufacturing, global logistics management, and production planning & control. His contributions include the book: Group Technology and Cellular Manufacturing (Kluwer-Springer). He is a recipient of Alfred Bodine / Society of Manufacturing Engineers Award for Studies in Machine Tool Economics; Joseph T.J. Stewart Faculty Scholarship, Sustained Achievement Exceptional Scholar Award at State University of New York. His current research work is in the areas of supply chain agility, disruption risk mitigation and response, and application of blockchain and IoT technologies in supply chains. He has served as a Visiting Professor in University of Groningen in Netherlands, Huazhong University of Science & Technology in Wuhan, China, and other universities for many years.

Dr. Suresh has conducted numerous training programs for senior executives in USA, Netherlands, China, India, Singapore, S. Korea, Sri Lanka and other countries, for more than two decades.
